Bio

Born in Okinawa and raised in Hawaii, Donald Yatomi graduated from the University of Hawaii with a BFA in Painting in 1992, then went on to attend the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He received a second BFA in Illustration with distinction in 1996. While at Art Center, Donald studied extensively under Gary Meyer, Ray Turner, Peter Liashkov, and the late Richard Bunkall.

For over ten years, Donald has been in either the film animation or video game industries. His greatest influences come from all forms of military equipment and most larger-than-life themes—mainly inanimate objects like Noah’s Ark, skyscrapers, and space shuttle platforms. Donald's lifelong dream is to become a drummer for a speed-metal band. In his spare time, he creates oil paintings in his home studio for a fine art gallery.

Donald currently lives in Bend, Oregon with a supportive wife and four very cute children. He is currently working for Sony as a Senior Concept Artist for video games.
